Jane is an experienced quantitative and qualitative nurse researcher with a track record of 17 years working in health sector research and evaluation.
She’s worked at University of Surrey Psychology Department (1987-1989) Research Fellow at the Institute for Employment Studies in Brighton (1989-1993) as a consultant with IHSM Consultants (1993-1994) and with Employment Research (since 1995).
Jane continues to explore issues affecting
health staff, and projects include:
>England survey manager in a multi-national study managed by Linda Aiken to explore the relationship between hospital organisation and patient outcomes.
>Review of skill-mix methodologies for WHO Interviews with staff at AFC early implementer sites on behalf of RCN.
>Since 1999 managing the annual employment survey for the Royal College of Nursing – a survey of between 6,000 and 14,000 nurses across the UK.
> Working with a team from NICEC to explore Junior doctors career paths (funded by Department of Health.
>NMC consultations (using postal and on-line surveys).
Geoff Pike AMRS, MSc.

Trained in Advanced Educational and Social Research Methods (MSc), Geoff has 17 years of employment policy research experience in the health and education sectors.
His previous employment has included spells at the (then) Department for Education and Science and Manpower Services Commission.
He spent five years at the Institute for Employment Studies, for two years being responsible for the annual review of the graduate labour market and he managed bi-annual surveys of graduate recruiters.
In 1995 he helped set up Employment Research and over the last 10 years Geoff has undertaken numerous local and national evaluations in the education and health sectors (see recent work, reports and publications).
Geoff is a member of the Market Research Society and the Social Research Association and is an Associate Fellow of the Institute for Employment Studies and the University of Warwick.
